Deniz Öztürk
German Energy Agency (dena), Senior Expert Energy Efficiency
Deniz Öztürk, born in Berlin, is a Senior Expert for Energy Efficiency at the German Energy Agency (dena). He has over 8 years of experience working at national and international levels in Germany, the Middle East (i.e. Türkiye, Jordan, Iran) and North Africa (i.e. Algeria) regarding energy efficiency policies, instruments and strategies across various sectors. He helps governments and international organisations to develop cross-sectoral energy efficiency strategies such as National Energy Efficiency Action Plans (NEEAPs), regulatory and governance frameworks and specific instruments such as ESCO market structures. Further key areas of his expertise include the strategic organization and implementation of stakeholder processes, as well as the development of data center markets with a focus on regulatory and incentivizing instruments in terms of energy efficiency, resource efficiency and external waste heat utilization. He holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering and management with the focus on energy and resources of the Technical University of Berlin.
